Our proud team has a combined experience of over two decades. We’re dedicated to caring for the needs of our small, and sometimes not so small, friends. We service every animal as if they’re our own so you can have piece of mind in knowing your loved one is getting the best care.
Meet the Staff
Amissa - Veterinary Assistant
Amissa is our Jack-of-all-trades. She joined the Dog & Cat Dentist team in 2013. As the doctors’ assistant and part-time receptionist, she divides her time between helping our registered veterinary technicians (RVTs) provide stellar patient care and answering any questions that our clients may have when scheduling appointments over-the-phone. She is currently working toward a registered veterinary technician certification by completing the RVT program at Pierce College. As our versatile employee, Amissa is always at the ready with whatever the doctors, technicians, or front desk staff may need. When she’s not dashing from the operatories to the front desk and back, Amissa enjoys roller skating, hiking or just hanging out with friends. She is the pet parent of Dog & Cat Dentist’s very own office mascot, the sassy cream-colored Frenchie named Peach.
Jennifer - Registered Veterinary Technician
Jennifer is a registered veterinary technician and Dog & Cat Dentist’s very own cat whisperer. She joined the team in 2016. Her interest in dentistry lead her to the Academy of Veterinary Dental Technicians, where she was mentored by Dr. Tsugawa and credentialed as a technician specialist in 2014. Not only does she have extensive specialized knowledge in dentistry, one of her primary duties at Dog & Cat Dentist is sitting at your pet’s side to monitor their anesthesia during procedures. Jennifer enjoys trying out vegan recipes, whale watching, and spending time with her pets, which include rescued cats, a poodle, and a cockatiel. Ask Jennifer any question related to your pet’s dental needs, and she’ll be sure to have a well-informed answer at the ready!
Kristina – Lead Client Service Representative
Kristina joined our team in August 2022. She has worked with animals for over a decade; with the last 5+ years being in veterinary medicine. She started her career working at doggie daycare and pet hotels, but soon realized she felt a calling to help furry patients at the front lines (or rather, at the front desk!). She has worked in both general practice and emergency hospitals but decided to transition to veterinary specialty after exploring the benefits of veterinary dentistry. She brought with her an extensive understanding of the veterinary field and a well-rounded administrative skill set. She continues to enjoy the challenges of learning the ins and outs of this field. As our lead client service representative, her goals are to provide a familiar voice/face when visiting our practice, to adeptly answer client questions, and to schedule appointments and procedures. She also works behind the scenes to maintain the flow of the hospital. When she is not at the front desk, she enjoys dabbling in arts and crafts, attending concerts and festivals, and spending time with her husband and fur children: Raul a geriatric Chihuahua mix, Bean a middle-aged terrier mix, and Dustin Hoffman a young domestic short hair cat.
Janely – Client Service Representative
Janely joined our team in December 2022. She came to us from a national, non-profit animal welfare organization through which she connected families and their pets to pet care services and resources. Her administrative and customer service experience ensures our clients and patients have an exceptional experience at our office. As a client service representative, her goal is to provide clients and patients a seamless experience, starting with the appointment scheduling process, to updates on patient status while hospitalized, to post procedure follow-up. When she’s not at the front desk greeting our clients and their pets, she enjoys watching horror movies, attending music festivals, visiting bookstores, and watching crocheting tutorials.
Rebecca – Registered Veterinary Technician
Rebecca joined the Dog and Cat Dentist team in 2023 and was immediately loved by her coworkers and clients. She has been working in the veterinary field since 2018 and is a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT). Her warm demeanor and sense of humor brighten everyone’s day. Her superpower is earning the trust of our patients and making their visit less stressful. Rebecca’s goal is to improve the experience of both our patients and their humans alike by delivering top-notch care with professionalism and compassion. When not at work, Rebecca enjoys hiking, camping, off-roading, painting, watching movies and baking.
Fabian – Registered Veterinary Technician
Fabian is a registered veterinary technician (RVT) and has worked at Dog and Cat Dentist since 2023. He began his journey working in the veterinary field in 2004 and received his RVT license in 2021. Fabian has a vast wealth of knowledge that he puts to use by providing unparalleled care for our furry patients. Our clients find his knowledge and excellent bedside manner very comforting, and you will find him very relatable. One of the favorite aspects of his job is the satisfaction of putting patients and their humans at ease. In his time outside of work he enjoys watching sci-fi movies, cooking, reading, and spending time with family and friends.
