Meet Dr. Winer

Jenna N. Winer, DVM

Dr. Jenna N. Winer graduated as a veterinarian from the University of California – Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine in 2014. She earned the distinction of graduating with the #1 rank academically in her veterinary class. Prior to veterinary school, Dr. Winer obtained her undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis.

Following graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Winer completed a one-year internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery in Los Angeles at the Animal Specialty and Emergency Center (ASEC). She then returned to the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine for three years of advanced residency training in Dentistry and Oral Surgery. During her residency, Dr. Winer participated in many research projects & publications, including studies on feline chronic gingivostomatitis, the use of 3-D printing in maxillofacial surgery, and CT scan findings in dogs with retrobulbar disease.

She was bestowed the award for outstanding small animal research study and presentation while in her final year of residency. Dr. Winer currently serves as a reviewer for several international veterinary journals, including the Journal of Veterinary Dentistry and the Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

Dr. Winer was born and raised in Los Angeles. She was thrilled to return to her hometown and join the Dog & Cat Dentist team after completing her residency. She lives with her adorable cat named Dumpling (pictured as a young kitten, on the right). Outside of work, she enjoys attending group fitness classes, spending time with her family, and traveling internationally.
